Figure 100 Hammer unions, is an economical low-pressure union for manifold and line connections. It has metal to metal contacts between subs to work where pressure do not exceed 1000psi NSCWP.

WECO Hammer Union Seals
Lip type seal ring is an elastomer component, as a secondary seal to protect metal-to-metal against corrosion, which minimizes fluid flow turbulence while creating a pressure seal. Depending on the union figure it can be a lip type “seal ring” or an “O-ring”. Different material s are available to suit for different fluid service. Buna-N (NBR) is common for standard service, Viton (FKM) for H2S service.
